Replacing a dilapidated bungalow in the back garden on an 1840’s Notting Hill villa, this new house is a single-story above ground structure with two basement levels surrounded by gardens, light wells and skylights that control and distribute light throughout the various levels. The key move, a sweeping double curvature timber roof concludes with a large roof light, has been designed to maximise the sunlight this backland light receives.
